The ideaแนวคิด

DWNTWN is a working leather atelier on Mangkorn Road, not a sourcing office. We build bags, belts and small leather goods from dead-stock and reject material out of the Thai leather industry, with buffalo hide for structural parts. ดาวน์ทาวน์เป็นอาเทลิเยร์เครื่องหนังที่ทำงานจริงบนถนนมังกร ไม่ใช่สำนักงานจัดหาสินค้า เราทำกระเป๋า เข็มขัด และเครื่องหนังชิ้นเล็ก จากหนังเดดสต็อกและหนังที่ถูกปฏิเสธจากอุตสาหกรรมเครื่องหนังไทย ใช้หนังควายสำหรับส่วนโครงสร้าง

Why DWNTWNทำไมต้องดาวน์ทาวน์

Downtown is where a city starts. Bangkok started at the river, and this street is part of how it climbed out of it. The name keeps that low point, the water's edge, as our address. ดาวน์ทาวน์คือจุดที่เมืองเริ่มต้น กรุงเทพฯ เริ่มจากริมแม่น้ำ และถนนสายนี้คือส่วนหนึ่งของการเติบโตขึ้นมาจากตรงนั้น ชื่อนี้เก็บจุดต่ำสุดริมน้ำไว้เป็นที่อยู่ของเรา

Read the tagอ่านป้ายหนัง

Every piece carries a hide tag. It tells you which hide the piece came from, how it was tanned, and why that hide was turned away. ชิ้นงานทุกชิ้นมีป้ายหนังติดอยู่ บอกว่ามาจากหนังผืนไหน ฟอกอย่างไร และเหตุใดหนังผืนนั้นจึงถูกปฏิเสธ

We tell the reason by what went wrong with the hide, such as a color that drifted from the standard or a grade that was missed. We do not name the tannery or the brand that rejected it. เราบอกเหตุผลจากสิ่งที่เกิดกับหนัง เช่น สีเพี้ยนจากมาตรฐาน หรือเกรดไม่ผ่าน เราไม่เอ่ยชื่อโรงฟอกหรือแบรนด์ที่ปฏิเสธหนังผืนนั้น
